Since 1993 the Law Laboratory of the Faculty of Law UMM (Lab. Hukum) has been present as part of the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FH UMM) to meet the needs of practical legal knowledge, although structurally and organisationally it has not been officially formed. Then in 1994 the Minister of Education and Culture Decree No. 17/DO/1994 was issued which was updated with the Minister of Education and Culture Decree No. 0325/U/1994 in which the contents not only abolished existing majors at the Faculty of Law throughout Indonesia, but the Minister of Education and Culture Decree also legalised the existence of Lab. Law which is manifested as the heart of the Faculty of Law which can pump the circulation of the flow of theory (Das Solen) to be applied in real life (Das Sain) so that the law is not only understood as a rigid written norm, but lives and develops along with the dynamics of the development of life itself. The Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture has an impact on the content in the local curriculum of the Faculty of Law, which has many practical nuances. Until now, the Law Lab continues to develop and innovate as a centre for implementing and supporting academic activities in developing professionalism in the field of law led by the Head of the Law Laboratory, Isdian Anggraeny, S.H., M.Kn. and assisted by 9 instructors, assistants and young assistants as executors.
